Day in the Life

Schedule:

Often start the day with personal activities and then balance client meetings and work tasks until the evening. This schedule allows for breaks and leisure time throughout the day, contributing to a balanced and fulfilling routine. Work hours can vary, sometimes extending into the evening, but mostly, they enjoy a flexible schedule.

Setting:

A mindset coach primarily works remotely, finding it efficient and effective. Occasional in-person speaking engagements at workshops or summer programs provide a rare change from this routine.

Tasks:

Involve client sessions, content creation (social media posts and YouTube videos), marketing, and administrative tasks. They spend about 8-10 hours a week on coaching and the rest on building their brand and managing various aspects of their business.

Topic:

Psychology, counseling techniques, education and training principles, sociology, and customer and personal service. These areas enable them to understand human behavior, offer guidance, and provide effective mindset change to clients seeking personal growth and development.

Skills:

Active listening, reading comprehension, effective speaking, critical thinking, and monitoring performance.

Tools:

Zoom for client meetings, Mailchimp for email marketing, YouTube and Spotify for podcasts, and ClickUp for planning social media content. These tools help efficiently manage client communication, content creation, and organizational tasks.

Supportive relationships, independence, autonomous decision making, working in environments where they can provide service and collaborate with others while focusing on tasks that utilize their strengths and lead to a sense of accomplishment.

How to Become a Mindset Coach

Education Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree is not strictly necessary, but it’s important to get coaching certifications like Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) and International Coach Federation (ICF). Specialized training such as neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) can also enhance skills in overcoming mental blocks and achieving personal growth for clients.

Preferred majors: While a degree is not strictly necessary, pursuing majors in psychology, counseling, and education can be helpful.
